How to test M2E Pro on Magento 2

Modified on Thu, 27 Jun at 5:58 PM

M2E Pro allows you to manage product data with minimal effort on your part efficiently.

If you're new to M2E Pro, we recommend starting with manual testing. To do this without affecting your live listings and orders, follow these steps:

Step 1: Disable Automatic Magento Order Creation

While M2E Pro's basic function is to import Channel orders automatically, you can temporarily disable the automatic creation of Magento orders. Navigate to eBay/Amazon/Walmart Integration > Configuration > Accounts > Orders.

Set "Create order in Magento" to "No" for both "Products listed by M2E Pro" and "Products listed by any other software."

 Note

If you have several Channel accounts linked to M2E Pro, make sure to disable the "Create order in Magento" option for each of them.

Step 2: Disable Automatic Stock Synchronization

Under eBay/Amazon/Walmart Integration > Configuration > Settings > Synchronizationset "M2E Pro Listings Synchronization" to "No."

This prevents automatic updates of your Channel items based on the Synchronization Policy rules. You can apply these rules manually during testing.

Step 3: Disable Import of Existing Channel Items

If you don't need your existing Channel products in M2E Pro, you can disable their automatic import.

Go to eBay/Amazon/Walmart Integration > Configuration > Accounts > Unmanaged Listings and set "Import Unmanaged Listings" to "No."

 Tip

This step is optional. M2E Pro does not manage Items imported from the Channel unless you link them to the respective Magento products and move them to the M2E Pro Listing.

Step 4: Begin Testing

With the settings adjusted, you can now proceed with your testing.

 Note

If you have M2E Pro on both live and test Magento instances, we recommend using different Channel accounts while testing to avoid double synchronization.

How to Test Order Processing?

Before testing order creation in M2E Pro, you need to purchase an item on the Channel.

Log in to eBay/Amazon/Walmart with another account to place an order or use an existing imported sale, accessible under eBay/Amazon/Walmart Integration > Sales > Orders in M2E Pro.

Inside the order, you can view detailed information, including billing and shipping addresses, logs, etc.

Since automatic order creation was disabled, you can manually initiate Magento order creation by clicking "Create order."

How to Test Listing Management?

You can create an M2E Pro Listing and add test products under eBay/Amazon/Walmart > Listings > Add Listing.

 Tip

The Listing creation process is similar for all Integrations, with minor differences.

Use step-by-step guides for eBay / Amazon / Walmart.

Additionally, check our guides on adding products to eBay / Amazon / Walmart Listings.

Once your Listing is ready, you can test List, Relist, Revise, and Stop actions on products to see how they update on the Channel:

  • List Item(s) : Submit a non-listed product to the Channel.
  • Revise Item(s): Fully update a listed product on the Channel.
  • Relist Item(s): Submit a previously inactive product to the Channel.
  • Stop Item(s) on Channel: Stop a product on the Channel.
  • Stop on Channel / Remove from Listing: Stop a product on the Channel and remove it from the M2E Pro Listing.

After Testing: Configuring M2E Pro for Use

Once you've completed your testing and are ready to use M2E Pro, follow these steps to configure the necessary settings:

Step 1: Enable automatic Magento order creation under eBay/Amazon/Walmart Integration > Configuration > Accounts > Orders.

Step 2: Set up Inventory Synchronization under eBay/Amazon/Walmart Integration > Configuration > Settings > Synchronization.

Step 3: Ensure that your Synchronization policies are correctly configured to facilitate smooth automatic synchronization.

 Tip

When you finish testing M2E Pro, you can remove the product from the Channel if necessary.
